HOUSTON, Texas–The Texas Senate is deliberating a proposal to provide families with $10,000 annually to fund their children’s private education. This initiative is designed to allow up to 100,000 K-12 students to enroll in private schools across the state.
Senator Brandon Creighton, a Republican from Conroe, introduced the proposal.
The bill, also known as Senate Bill 2, offers $10,000 to families for each child enrolled in an accredited private school.
The legislation includes additional provisions, granting up to $11,500 for students with disabilities attending private institutions.
