SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Houston police are investigating the death of Robert Ibarra, whose body was discovered near the Alazan Creek Trail west of the city center.

Authorities have identified Avory Michael Rowe as the primary suspect in Ibarra’s death, which they are treating as a homicide. Rowe is currently in custody and being questioned by detectives.

Police responded to a report from a passerby who found Ibarra’s body. Initial forensic evaluations indicated that Ibarra had suffered traumatic injuries.

Detectives are working to reconstruct the timeline leading up to Ibarra’s death. They are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and residences to track the movements of both Ibarra and Rowe.

Investigators are also interviewing witnesses to gain additional information about any unusual activity in the area.

Houston Police have not released information regarding Rowe’s connection to Ibarra or the motive behind the killing. They are gathering evidence and urging anyone with information to come forward, especially through the department’s anonymous hotline.

Local community leaders are calling on residents to remain calm and cooperative during the investigation. They are encouraging people to share any relevant details that may assist authorities.

The discovery of the body has raised concerns about safety in the Alazan Creek Trail area, a popular spot for locals and visitors. City officials are considering increasing patrols and installing additional security measures in response.

Houston’s Mayor expressed condolences to Ibarra’s family and assured the public that law enforcement is committed to ensuring justice.

The investigation continues as forensic teams work to uncover further details, and the community awaits more information.
