Houston’s airports are gearing up to accommodate an estimated 3.4 million travelers during the Christmas holiday period.

This significant influx of passengers is expected to pass through both George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) as the holiday season kicks off.

Houston Airport System officials have announced several new amenities to help alleviate congestion during this busy travel period.

At George Bush Intercontinental Airport, a new International Arrivals Curb has been introduced.

This feature includes six operational lanes designed to streamline incoming traffic and enhance the overall passenger experience. The new lanes are expected to reduce the time it takes for passengers to navigate the arrival area, thus easing traffic congestion.

In addition to the new curb lanes, airports in Houston have implemented various measures aimed at improving passenger flow, including more efficient check-in processes, enhanced security protocols, and better signage to assist travelers.

Travel experts recommend that passengers arrive at the airport well in advance of their flights during the holiday rush.

Travelers are also encouraged to stay informed about flight schedules and potential delays by signing up for airline notifications and checking the airport’s official website for updates.
