MANILA, Philippines — The Mapua Cardinals have ended their 33-year championship drought as they clinched the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball title against Benilde Blazers, 94-82 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Clint Escamis spearheaded Mapua’s victory with his drive and performance.

“This is a surreal moment, I just wanted this so badly. After 33 years, finally this is ours,’’ said Escamis.

Mapua’s journey to the top was not without challenges. Throughout the season, they faced formidable opponents who tested their skills and strategies.

The Benilde Blazers, known for their resilience and competitive spirit, offered stiff competition in the finals. Despite this, the Cardinals remained undeterred, focusing on their goal and executing their game plan with precision.

The team’s victory has sparked conversations about their future potential and the possibility of establishing a dynasty in NCAA men’s basketball.

Currently, the Mapua Cardinals’ focus remains on maintaining their winning form and adapting to the evolving dynamics of college basketball.

The 33-year wait for the championship has ended, marking a new era for the Mapua Cardinals.
