FRISCO, Texas — Good Good Golf, a Frisco-based golf media and apparel company, removed a 55-second advertisement with Callaway on Saturday after viewers criticized a scene that showed co-founder Garrett Clark shoving professional golfer and content creator Alexis Miestowski to the ground.
The advertisement promoted Callaway’s new Quantum Driver, which launched Aug. 20. In the first scene, Miestowski reaches for the driver before Clark approaches her from behind, shoves her to the ground and warns her not to touch the club.
The advertisement then shows Clark grabbing another club and pushing a friend aside before hitting a golf ball.
Good Good Golf removed the video and apologized after criticism spread online. The company said the advertisement did not reflect its values and reaffirmed its goal of making golf more inclusive.
Callaway also apologized and said CEO Chip Brewer ordered an investigation into the advertisement’s creation, collaboration and approval.
“The content was inappropriate and does not reflect our values,” Brewer said in a statement. He said the company opposes discrimination, domestic violence and threatening behavior.
Good Good Golf was founded in 2020 and raised $45 million in investment as an independent media company in 2025, according to The Athletic.
The company is also set to serve as the title sponsor of a new PGA Tour event in Austin at Omni Barton Creek in November.
Callaway, which partnered with Good Good Golf on the advertisement, is based in Carlsbad, California.
