DALLAS — The Dallas Stars said defenseman Miro Heiskanen will undergo an MRI on a lower-body injury Friday after leaving Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Wild, general manager Jim Nill said.
Nill said the team expects results before Saturday’s regular-season home finale against the New York Rangers. Heiskanen exited the game after a first-period hit from Minnesota forward Ryan Hartman and did not return.
Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said after the game that Heiskanen would likely not play in Saturday’s matchup.
Nill also provided updates on forward Roope Hintz, who has missed most of the post-Olympic schedule with a lower-body injury. Nill said Hintz remains week-to-week and is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season, with his availability for the start of the playoffs still uncertain.
The Stars also listed multiple additional injured players, including Radek Faksa, Michael Bunting, Nathan Bastian, Sam Steel and defenseman Nils Lundkvist.
Faksa and Bunting are expected to return before the playoffs, according to Gulutzan. Steel is considered day-to-day and may return for the final regular-season game, while Bastian remains out on a longer-term recovery timeline.
