MANILA — The Embassy of the Philippines in Israel has advised Filipinos to stay indoors after Israeli authorities placed the entire country under “essential activity” status due to heightened security threats.
In its Saturday advisory, the embassy said the measure follows a directive from the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command. Under this status, schools are closed, public gatherings are prohibited, and work is limited to essential services. Filipinos are urged to comply with local regulations, remain at home, and be ready to enter shelters immediately if the “Tseva Adom” alert is sounded.
The embassy did not cite a specific incident prompting the directive but emphasized Filipinos should follow civil defense protocols. The advisory comes amid broader regional tensions, including reported Israeli strikes on Iran, though no formal declaration of war has been announced.
The Philippine Embassy continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with Israeli authorities. Its 24/7 emergency hotline (+972 54 466 1188) remains available for assistance. Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs is closely watching conditions in other Middle Eastern countries with large Filipino communities, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain.
