Miley Cyrus is set to relive the best of both worlds with a 20th-anniversary special of “Hannah Montana”, premiering March 24 on Disney+.
The tribute, teased with a purple convertible bearing the plate “HM 20,” promises never-before-seen archival footage and visits to iconic sets like the Stewart family living room and Hannah Montana’s closet. Cyrus will join Alex Cooper of Call Her Daddy for a live interview reflecting on her time as the dual-identity pop star Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana.
While it’s unclear if original cast members Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Mitchell Musso, and Jason Earles will appear, the special aims to highlight the show’s lasting impact on fans and pop culture.
Hannah Montana, which debuted in 2006, followed 14-year-old Miley Stewart navigating teen life while secretly living as a pop star. The show launched Cyrus to superstardom and ultimately led to her Disney Legend recognition in 2024 alongside Harrison Ford, Angela Bassett, Jamie Lee Curtis, and James Cameron.
Cyrus described the anniversary as a celebration of shared memories with fans: “‘Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am… This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
Ahead of the special, Disney+ will re-air all four seasons of the sitcom, “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” and the “Best of Both Worlds” concert starting Feb. 19. According to Disney, the content has been streamed over 500 million hours globally, cementing the show’s multigenerational legacy.
Disney’s Ayo Davis said the special is intended as a “love letter to the fans”, capturing the spirit, humor, and dreamlike joy that made Hannah Montana an enduring phenomenon.
