MANILA, Philippines– President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday appointed former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Nicolas Torre 3rd as the new general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in Metro Manila, Philippines, replacing Procopio Lipana, Malacañang said.
Malacañang confirmed the appointment on Friday and identified Torre, who previously served as the 31st chief of the PNP, as the official designated to assume the MMDA general manager post.
The Office of the President announced the change in MMDA leadership in Manila and stated that Torre will succeed Lipana as the agency’s general manager.
Torre, who led the PNP as its 31st chief, will now oversee MMDA operations as he takes over from outgoing general manager Lipana.
