MANILA, Philippines — Mapua guard Clint Escamis confirmed on Friday that he has played his final NCAA game after the Cardinals missed the Season 101 men’s basketball Final Four.

Escamis returned for his last playing year with hopes of helping Mapua defend its title. The Cardinals ended their season with a 74-72 loss to College of St. Benilde, which eliminated them from contention.

Escamis, a former Rookie of the Year and MVP, said he plans to rest following what he described as a demanding season. He added that he intends to pursue a professional career and will consider opportunities as they come.

He said he has not received offers and has yet to decide whether he will join the PBA Draft next year. He previously skipped the Season 50 Draft in September.

Escamis also said he is open to helping Mapua in another capacity, mentioning the possibility of joining the coaching staff in the future.

The 25-year-old guard ends his collegiate career with a Season 100 championship and a Finals MVP award. He said he has no regrets about returning for his final year, noting that he hoped to guide younger teammates as he completed his stint with the Cardinals.
