A tornadic storm moved through northwest Harris County on Monday, causing property damage and power outages, officials said.
Neighbors in the Klein area were cleaning up tree limbs and debris on streets. Residents reported damaged roofs, broken windows, and scattered debris. About 100 homes were damaged, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said a tornado touched down near Highways 249 and 2920, and a second possible tornado hit the Riata Rancha area. The National Weather Service confirmed at least one tornadic storm moved over Harris County.
No injuries were reported. Residents said they were safe. “We’re all healthy. We’re blessed,” said Elizabeth Matson, who sheltered with her three children as the storm passed.
