Karl Eldrew Yulo announced Thursday in Manila that he is considering pausing his studies to focus on gymnastics. The announcement followed his performance on the opening day of the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championship.
Yulo, representing the Philippines in men’s artistic gymnastics, qualified for four event finals at the championship. The tournament includes junior gymnasts from various countries competing in multiple apparatuses.
He said he plans to discuss the possibility of pausing his studies with his family and coaches before making a decision. Officials from the Philippine gymnastics program stated that his participation forms part of the country’s athlete development pathway.
