The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that state troopers seized more than 400 ounces of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Bexar County and detained the driver.
The stop occurred on a highway in Bexar County on a date not released in the initial statement. Troopers pulled over the vehicle after observing a suspected traffic violation while on routine patrol.
The driver allegedly admitted to having drugs in the vehicle. Troopers searched the vehicle and found multiple packages that later tested positive for methamphetamine, totaling more than 400 ounces.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to a local detention facility for booking. DPS said the drugs were collected as evidence and sent to a secure facility for storage and additional testing.
DPS stated formal charges had not been announced. No other occupants were reported in the vehicle, and no injuries occurred.
Troopers followed standard procedures for the traffic stop, vehicle search, and evidence handling. The vehicle may be subject to impoundment or forfeiture under Texas law. DPS said the investigation remains active and updates will come as the case progresses.
