DALLAS — Dallas County prosecutors formally indicted Yordanis Cobos-Martinez on a capital murder charge in connection with the beheading of Chandramouli Nagamallaiah at a Dallas-area motel, authorities confirmed.
Police responded to the motel after discovering Nagamallaiah, a motel worker, deceased from a violent attack. Officers secured the scene, collected evidence, and obtained witness statements that contributed to the investigation.
Following the investigation, authorities arrested Cobos-Martinez, who now faces a capital murder charge in Dallas County court. Officials have not released details regarding a motive. Prosecutors are reviewing whether additional charges may apply.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office is handling the prosecution. Cobos-Martinez is entitled to legal representation and the opportunity to contest the charges during the legal proceedings, which will include pre-trial hearings and possibly a trial.
