Governor Greg Abbott officially launched his reelection campaign in Houston on Sunday night, seeking a fourth term as Texas governor.

The state does not impose term limits for this position. Abbott chose Houston for his announcement due to personal ties—his wife hails from the city, and their daughter spent much of her childhood there after the family moved following Abbott’s law school graduation.

Abbott emphasized his goal of shifting Harris County’s political stance toward the Republican Party. “I first ran for office in Houston. I won Harris County then, and we will win Harris County again this election,” he said.

The campaign event included a roundtable moderated by national radio host Joe Pags, where Texans shared how the state’s conservative leadership supported their achievements.

Abbott used the platform to highlight his record on family values, affordability, economic growth, education reform, public safety, and border security.

“In Texas, our families come first,” he said, underscoring efforts to manage the cost of living and maintain the state as a favorable place to raise a family.

Abbott’s campaign focuses on his record of reducing regulatory burdens, encouraging business investment, and sustaining Texas’s reputation as a business-friendly state. His administration has also prioritized law enforcement initiatives and border protections to ensure the safety of residents
