RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas — South Texas College Starr County Campus will host a Veterans Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place in Building H, Room H142, at 142 FM 3167.
The fair, open to the public at no cost, will provide veterans with access to information, services, and support from 20 participating organizations. Among the groups taking part are South Texas College, the Starr County Industrial Foundation, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Workforce Solutions, and DHR Health.
Guest speakers include Angela Burton, a U.S. veteran and director of the Small Business Administration, and Lt. Col. James A. Falcon, M.D. Both will address topics related to business opportunities and healthcare for veterans.
South Texas College organized the event in partnership with the Starr County Industrial Foundation to expand available resources for veterans and their families. The Department of Veterans Affairs will offer assistance with benefits, while Workforce Solutions will provide employment guidance. DHR Health will share information on medical and wellness services.
College officials said the Veterans Resource Fair aims to create a supportive environment where veterans can connect with organizations that address their needs. The event highlights the importance of collaboration in ensuring that veterans have access to essential programs and services.
