AUSTIN, Texas — Austin-based activist Greg Stoker returned to the United States after being detained in Israel during a humanitarian mission to Gaza.

He arrived at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, where supporters welcomed him home.

Stoker joined an international group delivering aid to the Gaza Strip. Israeli authorities detained the group after accusing them of entering restricted areas. The activists were held while attempting to transport humanitarian supplies into the region.

The detention drew international attention from human rights organizations that urged their release. U.S. diplomatic efforts helped secure Stoker’s return to the country.

At the airport, Stoker’s family, friends, and supporters greeted him with signs and messages of encouragement. A spokesperson for his organization expressed appreciation for the public support and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to providing aid in conflict areas.

Stoker briefly addressed reporters, calling for continued global support for humanitarian operations in Gaza. He emphasized the need for medical and food assistance amid ongoing shortages.

His organization plans to continue aid missions to conflict zones despite logistical and political challenges. Stoker said he intends to remain active in international humanitarian work.
