Tejano musician and Latin Grammy award winner David Lee Garza was admitted to a San Antonio hospital due to fluid buildup in his lungs. His record label said he will remain under observation through the weekend.
Garza, 62, is from Poteet, Texas, and leads the band Los Musicales. His management said he sought medical help after experiencing shortness of breath and fatigue. Doctors later discovered the fluid accumulation in his lungs.
Manager Joey Rodriguez confirmed that Garza’s condition is being monitored as doctors address the issue. His scheduled performances have been canceled while he recovers.
Garza has led Los Musicales since the 1970s and is recognized for his contributions to Tejano music. He has recorded numerous albums and worked with many artists in the genre.
