SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Bexar County officials are addressing a backlog of more than 52,000 voter registration applications that accumulated since July due to the county’s transition from the VoteTech system to a new platform called TEAMS.
The processing halt during the system change created delays in handling applications, but county officials have hired temporary staff to assist in clearing the backlog ahead of the October 6 voter registration deadline. Election Day is set for November 4.
Officials expressed confidence that all eligible applications submitted on time will be processed before the election. The move to the TEAMS system is part of a broader effort to modernize voter registration and improve efficiency in handling the increasing volume of applications.
