A fire on Saturday has left a Houston religious community in shock as Christ Church Apostolic’s building was completely destroyed. Two firefighters sustained injuries while tackling the blaze at the church, which authorities have deemed a “total loss.” Over 100 firefighters were present as the fire erupted between 6:45 and 6:50 a.m.

The church, established around 1960 and located at 12815 Fuqua St., suffered extensive damage. Pastor Jon McDaniel and his wife, Crystal, used Facebook to inform the congregation, expressing gratitude for the prayers and support received during this difficult time. McDaniel, who witnessed the destruction firsthand, extended thanks to the firefighters and reassured members that their worship would continue at a new location.

Despite the loss of the physical church, McDaniel emphasized, “The vision of our church has not changed.” Services will proceed at FountainBlu Event Center as the community looks to rebuild and continue its mission.
