Storms cause extensive flight delays at DFW Airport

Weather caused flight delays and cancellations in North Texas over Labor Day weekend.

Numerous flights at DFW Airport are experiencing delays as rain and storms pass through parts of North Texas on Friday.

Severe thunderstorms, which prompted warnings, swept through Denton and Wise counties Friday evening, with continued scattered showers and storms anticipated overnight into Saturday.

As of just before 7:40 p.m. on Friday, there were over 400 flight delays at DFW Airport and more than 70 delays at Dallas Love Field.

Here are the current figures for flight delays and cancellations at both airports:

DFW International Airport Flight Delays and Cancellations:

  • Cancellations: 3
  • Delays: 458

Dallas Love Field Flight Delays and Cancellations:

  • Cancellations: 1
  • Delays: 71
