LONDON — The Beatles’ “Anthology” documentary series will return this fall with newly restored and remastered episodes, along with a ninth installment and fresh audio mixes.
Disney+ will begin streaming the updated series on November 26, according to an announcement released Thursday.
Originally aired in 1995, The Beatles Anthology chronicled the band’s history from its beginnings in Liverpool to international stardom.
The new ninth episode will feature archival behind-the-scenes footage from 1994–1995, including Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr collaborating on the project and reflecting on their experiences as members of the band.
Giles Martin, son of longtime Beatles producer George Martin, has overseen new audio mixes for much of the music featured in the updated documentary.
In addition to the series, new music is also set for release. On November 21, a fourth Anthology album will be released, featuring 13 previously unreleased demos, session tracks, and rare recordings. The release will coincide with remastered versions of the original three Anthology albums.
