HOUSTON, Texas– Harris County authorities are searching for former detention officer Stevie Mosley, 23, and her associate Andrea Johnson, 24, in connection with an alleged luxury car theft scheme.

Both women are wanted for charges related to the fraudulent transfer of a Lexus ES 300.

Mosley resigned from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in April amid an internal investigation into fraternization with an inmate. Johnson was the inmate involved and was in custody for a separate case. Mosley was later deemed ineligible for rehire.

The scheme reportedly began in late July when Mosley and Johnson rented the Lexus through Top Tier Fleet, a Houston luxury vehicle rental company.

The vehicle’s owner, Christopher Orji, said Mosley’s rental records appeared clean at the time of the transaction.

After acquiring the vehicle, Mosley and Johnson allegedly listed it for sale on Facebook Marketplace using a suspicious profile and an AI-generated photo, advertising it for $10,000.

The vehicle’s tracker went offline shortly after, and communication with the sellers ceased. Orji and his partner activated the car’s kill switch to prevent unauthorized use.

A buyer responded to the Facebook listing and met with Mosley and Johnson. Mosley reportedly posed as a law enforcement officer, wearing a Harris County Sheriff’s Office uniform and displaying a badge, which convinced the buyer of the transaction’s legitimacy. The buyer paid a total of $18,000 through Zelle and wire transfer.

The buyer later discovered the vehicle was still registered to Orji, who had not authorized the sale. The buyer learned of the fraud after attempting to service the car at a dealership.

Mosley and Johnson remain at large. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000. Investigators are exploring the possibility of additional crimes linked to the pair.
