DALLAS, Texas — A whip used by Harrison Ford in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade sold for $525,000 during Heritage Auctions’ Summer Entertainment Auction in Dallas.
The whip, featured in the movie’s iconic Holy Grail trials, has a notable provenance. Ford gave the whip to then-Prince Charles during the UK premiere of the film. It later became the property of Princess Diana before being sold to its current owner.
The auction also saw the Rosebud sled from Citizen Kane fetch $14.75 million, making it one of the most expensive movie props ever sold.
Heritage Auctions described the event as the second-highest-grossing entertainment auction, drawing strong interest from collectors and film enthusiasts.
Other items from films such as Home Alone and Kill Bill Vol. 1 were also auctioned, reflecting robust demand in the movie memorabilia market.
The whip symbolizes the Indiana Jones character and its connection to popular culture, while the Rosebud sled represents a key artifact from a critically acclaimed film often cited as one of the greatest in cinema history.
