HOUSTON, Texas–A 92-year-old woman residing in Houston has endured four years of delays as she waits for the completion of her home construction, despite having paid nearly $200,000 to the builder.

The resident, Naomi Brazle, lives on Winton Street in Houston’s South Side and has been residing in an RV throughout this extended period. The project was initially expected to last no more than a year.

The financial investment in the construction has been significant. Brazle’s son contributed over $121,000 to the builder, while she personally provided an additional $69,000 in the past year.

This brings the total expenditure to approximately $190,000. Communication with the builder has been challenging for Brazle. She expressed frustration over continual postponements, stating that the builder appears indifferent to her situation.

Brazle revealed that the builder informed her daughter of his financial struggles, claiming he was experiencing monetary difficulties.

Despite the substantial payment, Brazle remains uncertain about how her funds have been utilized. The builder acknowledged encountering previous issues with the project but conveyed optimism regarding its current state.

He stated, “There’s a lot of hiccups on this deal, but I think we’re where we are right now. I’m excited.”
