MANILA, Philippines — A weeklong celebration of golf and camaraderie returns as the Southwoods Invitational 2026, the premier member-guest tournament of Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club, tees off from March 16 to 21 at the club’s famed Masters and Legends courses in Carmona, Cavite.

The annual event has grown into one of the most anticipated gatherings in Philippine golf, combining competitive play with social festivities that bring together club members and their guests.

Organizers expect a strong turnout this year, with around 400 teams or roughly 800 players projected to participate based on early registrations—underscoring the tournament’s reputation as one of the country’s most sought-after member-guest competitions.

Tournament format

To accommodate the large field, players will tee off with sequential start times beginning at 6:20 a.m. on both courses from March 16 to 20. The final day will feature shotgun starts, with groups teeing off at 7 a.m. on the Masters course and 7:30 a.m. on the Legends course.

The tournament will use a 36-hole format, with each team playing one round on each course. Teams will compete under a Team Aggregate system using the Modified Stableford scoring format, which rewards aggressive play and keeps the leaderboard fluid.

Titles will be awarded to overall gross and net champions, along with winners in Divisions I to V and the Guests/Sponsors category, ensuring balanced competition among players of varying skill levels.

More than a golf tournament

Beyond the competition, the Southwoods Invitational is known for its vibrant social atmosphere. The week traditionally features gatherings, shared rounds among friends, and festive activities that highlight the club’s culture of hospitality.

The club also hosts the Philippine Sportswriters Association Cup, which is scheduled to hold its fifth edition later this year.

Registration details

Registration remains open at ₱20,000 plus VAT per participant. The package includes:

  • Two weekday practice rounds
  • A ₱7,000 pro shop gift certificate and giveaways
  • Breakfast and snacks during the tournament
  • An awards dinner
  • Eligibility for raffle prizes 🎁

Interested participants may contact the Manila Southwoods Marketing and Communications Office for further details.
