Three Texas cities—Houston, Austin, and Dallas—earned spots on the World’s Best Cities 2026 list, released through Resonance Consultancy.

Houston ranked 58th, reflecting strong economic output despite a decline in livability measures. Austin placed 87th, dropping from its previous rank of 53rd, while Dallas secured 78th.

The list evaluated over 270 cities worldwide using indicators such as economy, business presence, and quality of life, identifying the top 100 metropolitan areas. The assessment focuses on urban growth, economic strength, and quality of living.

Houston remains a major economic center, Austin faces challenges in livability and development, and Dallas continues to maintain a competitive urban economy. The results underscore Texas’ role as a key region for urban prosperity and economic activity.
