SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A robbery occurred at the Woodlake shopping center, located on the 700 block of FM 78 in Houston, Texas, around lunchtime.

The incident involved three masked suspects who approached an employee of Loomis Armored Services while he was servicing an ATM outside Bank of America.

The suspects demanded money, and the employee complied. They then proceeded to remove items from the ATM.

During the robbery, one suspect disarmed the Loomis employee, who was armed as part of standard procedure for handling armored vehicles.

After the theft, the suspects fled the scene in what authorities believe to be a silver sedan. Law enforcement later found the getaway car a few blocks from the scene. Additionally, the weapon taken from the Loomis employee was recovered.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the robbery. Authorities have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 210-335-6000. As of now, the suspects remain at large.

This robbery adds to a growing list of incidents targeting armored vehicles across the United States, raising concerns about security measures for cash-in-transit operations.

Law enforcement faces challenges in identifying the suspects due to their use of masks, which hinder the investigation. Surveillance footage, witness testimonies, and forensic evidence will play key roles in identifying and locating the criminals.

The Loomis employee involved was not physically injured during the robbery.

Armored truck employees are trained to prioritize safety in high-risk situations, often focusing on minimizing harm to themselves and others over securing the valuables they transport.

The community near the shopping center has been urged to stay vigilant as the investigation continues.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, along with federal agencies if needed, is continuing to gather evidence to solve the case. Public cooperation remains essential in tracking down the suspects and ensuring the safety of the community.
