Gaming sector powers PH economy with ₱215B in H1

Philippine gambling revenues hit P215 billion in the first half of the year, marking a 25.7% increase from the previous year, according to Pagcor. The growth, attributed to increased tourist arrivals and relaxed pandemic restrictions, saw integrated resorts significantly contribute to the gross gaming revenues. Pagcor and the Advertising Standards Council also agreed to regulate online gambling advertisements to ensure responsible practice.

BTS label HYBE raided in suspected fraud case

Police raided HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan District, Seoul, in connection with alleged fraudulent trading involving its founder, Bang Si-hyuk. The investigation focuses on accusations that Bang misled early investors to gain illicit profits from the company’s 2020 IPO, reportedly amassing 200 billion won. HYBE denies any wrongdoing by Bang.
