14 hurt in Japan attack involving stabbing, liquid spray

Fourteen people suffered injuries on Friday in a stabbing and liquid spray attack at a factory in Mishima city in Japan’s central Shizuoka region, as emergency services responded and transported the victims for medical treatment, according to firefighting department official Tomoharu Sugiyama.

Emergency responders in Mishima used ambulances and other vehicles to transport the 14 injured people from the factory to medical facilities after receiving reports of the attack.

Authorities in Mishima identified the site of the incident as a factory in the city’s jurisdiction in the Shizuoka region and confirmed that the attack involved both a stabbing and the spraying of an unspecified liquid.

The firefighting department in Mishima coordinated with medical teams and other emergency personnel to assess the condition of the injured and to organize transportation from the factory.

Officials in Mishima did not immediately release information about the suspect or suspects involved in the stabbing and liquid spray attack at the factory.
