AUSTIN, Texas –Authorities in Austin have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that injured two people in the northern part of the city on Wednesday evening.
Alexis Sevilla, 21, faces charges of aggravated assault in relation to a shooting that occurred on Shadowview Drive earlier this month.
The shooting occurred at a residential home in North Austin, and the victims, whose identities have not been released, were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Austin police launched a city-wide manhunt after the suspect fled the scene, and investigators later apprehended the individual.
Using eyewitness accounts and surveillance footage, police tracked the individual and made the arrest without incident. Authorities have not yet released the name of the suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.
Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the shooting and are questioning neighbors, friends, and associates of both the suspect and the victims.
The police have not confirmed whether the shooting was a targeted attack or a random act of violence.
