SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A preschool teacher was killed, and five children were injured in a car crash at Excelled Montessori Plus School in Bexar County, Texas.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reported that the teacher, Alexia Rosales, 22, lost her life after being struck by two vehicles. The accident occurred during a routine pickup following a holiday performance at the preschool.

Sheriff Javier Salazar revealed details of the incident, describing how a parent driving a car accelerated unexpectedly into another parked car.

The collision pushed both vehicles into a playground area where Rosales and several children were present.

Rosales was pinned beneath one of the cars for an extended period until emergency responders could lift the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five one-year-old children sustained injuries in the incident and were immediately transported to nearby hospitals. The conditions of these children have not been disclosed, but it was confirmed that all families were notified of their children’s situations.

The Bexar County authorities have dismissed any criminal intent behind the crash.

Sheriff Salazar indicated that the driver involved in the accident had a previous medical history that might have contributed to the sudden acceleration.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the accident.
