SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A 39-year-old officer with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), has been indicted on multiple charges related to child pornography.

Official reports confirm that Albert Sanchez faces 24 counts of possession of child pornography.

Authorities initiated the investigation after receiving a tip about disturbing materials allegedly linked to Sanchez.

The evidence collected during the investigation reportedly includes numerous explicit images and videos involving minors.

SAPD Chief William McManus stated that the department is cooperating fully with the investigation and stressed that any officer found guilty of such crimes would face serious consequences.

He reassured the community that SAPD is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability within its ranks.

At the same time, Sanchez’s legal team is preparing a defense. His attorneys have refrained from making public statements about the specifics of their strategy.

They have, however, emphasized the importance of due process and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.

SAPD has placed Sanchez on administrative leave pending the outcome of the trial.
