Dallas PD worker arrested for shoplifting at Target in North Texas

DALLAS, Texas –An employee of the Dallas Police Department was taken into custody on Monday following an alleged shoplifting incident at a Target store in North Texas.

Authorities have confirmed that the charge for Billy Flores, a 911 call analyst, is for misdemeanor theft.

Police also noted that Flores was cited in connection with two prior incidents.

According to authorities, Flores and an accomplice, a woman, attempted to conceal items in a stroller and leave the store without paying.

Loss prevention officers intervened before the pair could leave the premises. The specific items involved in the alleged theft have not been disclosed.

In response to the arrest, the Dallas Police Department placed Flores on administrative leave while an internal affairs investigation is underway.

Flores has been with the Dallas Police Department’s Communications Division since April 2021.

Authorities say charges are expected to be filed against the woman involved in the incident at a later date.
