DALLAS, Texas — A 7-year-old girl from Shepherd, Texas, whose AMBER Alert was issued in September, has been found safe, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Hazel Hodge-Lassiter became the subject of an AMBER Alert, a critical notification system used to alert the public about missing children believed to be in danger.

The alert was issued after she was last seen with Brandon Lassiter, 44, and Ashley Doss-Lassiter, 41, sparking a widespread search effort.

Authorities had initially stated that Hazel might be traveling in a gray 2019 Nissan Rogue with Texas license plate MDN 6176.

The alert was broadcast across the state, urging anyone with information to come forward.

The vehicle was last seen in the 900 block of County Line Road in Shepherd, Texas, on September 25, 2024.

The DPS did not specify the relationship between Hazel and the individuals she was last seen with, which left many questions unanswered during the search.
