The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has announced the cancellation of ₱392,675,939 in debt for agrarian reform beneficiaries in the province of Cagayan.
Approximately 6,300 farmers from Cagayan received Certificates of Condonation along with the Release of Mortgage.
The forgiven debt relates to 6,303 hectares of land that was previously distributed to them.
This measure is part of the government’s broader strategy to assist beneficiaries, known as agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) who have been struggling financially.
By eliminating these debts, the government aims to allow farmers to focus on agricultural production without the strain of repayment obligations.
The DAR continues to monitor the progress of agrarian reform beneficiaries across the country. The agency remains committed to ensuring that the objectives of the CARP are met.
