MANILA, Philippines– “Eat Bulaga” host Jose Manalo recently proposed to former EB Babes member Mergene Maranan, his longtime partner.
The proposal took place at a resort and was shared by Maranan on Instagram on Dec. 6.
In the video clip shared by Maranan, Manalo is seen holding a microphone and singing the song “Ikaw” by Filipino artist Yeng Constantino.
Maranan, initially wondering if it was a prank, recognized Manalo’s sincerity and responded with a positive answer.
She later expressed her joy on Instagram, stating, “The easiest YES I’ve ever said,” along with the date 02/12/24, which marked the day of the proposal.
Maranan also posted a close-up view of her engagement ring, sharing more about the memorable moment with her followers.
Manalo and Maranan have maintained a private relationship over the years. They have been seen together at various events associated with “Eat Bulaga,” and they often share glimpses of family moments on their social media accounts. The couple also has children, whom they occasionally feature in their posts.
Jose Manalo was previously married to Anna Lyn, who passed away in January 2022. Manalo has four children with his former wife, named Benj, Myki, Ai, and Niccolo. Despite his past, Manalo has managed to keep his personal life away from the public eye while continuing his career in entertainment.
