Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has announced a push to ban the sale of all THC products throughout Texas, a key goal for the upcoming 2025 legislative session.

The lieutenant governor described consumable THC products as a significant threat to public health.

He highlighted his belief that these items pose dangers to consumers, particularly to younger populations. This move to ban THC products aligns with Patrick’s longstanding commitment to health and safety initiatives within the state.

Business owners in the cannabis sector and proponents of THC products argue that a ban would negatively impact the economy as the industry has provided numerous jobs and contributed to state revenues.

This development comes amid broader discussions about cannabis and THC regulations across the United States. While some states have moved towards legalization and regulation, others remain cautious, considering various restrictions.
