MANILA, Philippines –High-ranking officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the Constitution during a recent appearance before Congress.
The assurance came as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. addressed AFP officers at Malacañang Palace.
The President’s speech emphasized the importance of constitutional loyalty in military service. He reminded the officers of their role in protecting democratic values and the nation’s legal framework.
General Romeo Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the AFP, was among the officials who expressed support for the President’s remarks. He assured that the armed forces remain a pillar of stability and security in the Philippines.
Marcos also highlighted the need for modernization and professional development within the military. He urged the officers to continue their efforts in enhancing the capabilities and preparedness of the AFP. This includes adopting new technologies and strategies to address emerging security challenges.
