Collision on Loop 410 Leads to Major Road Closure

A fatal collision occurred on Loop 410 in San Antonio, Texas, when a pickup truck rear-ended a box truck, resulting in the pickup truck driver’s death, with authorities responding immediately and launching a substantial investigation into the accident’s cause.

The San Antonio Police Department received the call about the incident at approximately 3:30 a.m. Officers and emergency services arrived at the location shortly after. The crash happened on a busy section of Loop 410, a major highway that encircles the city of San Antonio. Due to the severity of the crash, both directions of the roadway were shut down temporarily.

Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic aftermath. Debris from the vehicles was scattered across the highway. Emergency responders worked swiftly to address the situation, securing the area and tending to any other individuals involved. The immediate concern was the condition of the drivers. Unfortunately, the driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have yet to release the identity of the victim pending notification of the next of kin. The driver of the box truck was not seriously injured but was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures. He is expected to survive and has been cooperating with the police investigation.

The closure of both lanes led to lengthy traffic delays as police diverted vehicles onto alternate routes.
