A new lawsuit has been filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing the music mogul of rape and recording the act on video at his New York recording studio in 2001. The case, submitted on Tuesday in federal court, alleges that Combs and his head of security sexually assaulted the plaintiff, identified as Thalia Graves. This legal action adds to a growing list of allegations against the hip-hop icon.

Court documents reveal that Graves claims she was drugged and “viciously” raped by Combs and his security chief. The lawsuit also states that the attack was recorded on video without her consent. Graves asserts that Combs later sold the footage as pornography.

Attorney Gloria Allred, representing Graves, held a press conference to announce the lawsuit. Allred emphasized the severity of the allegations and expressed hope that the case would bring justice.

This lawsuit follows a series of legal troubles for Combs. In November 2023, singer Cassandra Ventura, known as Cassie, filed a lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of sex trafficking and sexual abuse. These allegations prompted federal authorities to investigate Combs, leading to his arrest in Manhattan earlier this month.

Combs has faced numerous accusations over the years. Legal experts and industry observers note that these cases paint a troubling picture of systematic abuse. Some have pointed out that the music industry may have turned a blind eye to such behavior for too long.

The recent allegations have sparked discussions about the culture of silence and complicity in the entertainment industry. Advocacy groups have called for more stringent measures to protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable.

Graves’ lawsuit provides detailed accounts of the alleged assault. According to the filings, she met Combs at a party in New York City. She was invited to his recording studio, where the incident allegedly took place. Graves says she was offered a drink, which she believes was spiked with a drug. She recalls feeling disoriented before losing consciousness. When she awoke, she found herself being assaulted by Combs and his security chief. The lawsuit states that she was coerced into silence through threats and intimidation.

Combs’ legal team has denied the allegations, calling them baseless. In a statement, Combs’ attorney said, “Mr. Combs categorically denies these allegations. These claims are false and an attempt to extort money.” They also stated their intention to vigorously defend against the lawsuit.

Public reaction to the lawsuit has been mixed. Some express support for the alleged victims, urging a thorough investigation. Others remain skeptical, questioning the timing and motivations behind the accusations. Social media platforms have been flooded with comments and discussions, reflecting the polarized views on the matter.

The music industry is closely watching the case, with many wondering how it will impact Combs’ career. Known for his influential role in hip-hop and fashion, Combs has built an empire over the decades. However, these allegations have cast a shadow over his legacy.
