Kevin Quiambao will participate in workouts with five NBA teams as he aims to earn a spot in the upcoming NBA Summer League, Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone confirmed on Thursday.

The 23-year-old forward, who has been a key figure in the Philippine national team program, is currently focused on showcasing his skills to NBA scouts and executives in hopes of advancing his professional basketball career.

Coach Cone stated that Quiambao’s return to Gilas Pilipinas practice will depend on the outcome of these team evaluations. “We’re fully supporting Kevin in this opportunity. We’re waiting for him to finish his workouts before he rejoins us,” Cone said.

Quiambao previously missed a scheduled workout with the Sacramento Kings but remains on track for upcoming sessions with five other NBA teams. The names of the teams were not disclosed.

His performance during these workouts will be a deciding factor in whether he receives an invitation to join an NBA Summer League roster.

Gilas Pilipinas continues preparations in his absence, with the team and coaching staff expressing their support for Quiambao’s NBA aspirations.

The workouts are expected to take place in the coming days, with updates on Quiambao’s status anticipated shortly after.
