Senate to Investigate Fatal Fall at New Senate Building Construction Site

Following a tragic incident at the construction site of the New Senate Building in Taguig, Senate President Chiz Escudero has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a fatal fall on Thursday night.

The unidentified man fell from the north tower of the building, which is currently under construction and yet to be occupied. According to reports from the Senate security team, the man allegedly gained unauthorized access to the site around 9 p.m. Security personnel attempted to locate him but were unsuccessful until he was discovered at approximately 10 p.m. after the fall, which proved fatal.

“We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate event and extend our condolences to the family of the deceased,” Senate President Escudero stated. He emphasized the importance of reviewing and enhancing security protocols at the construction site to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The New Senate Building has recently come under scrutiny regarding its construction costs, prompting ongoing investigations by a Senate panel. This incident adds urgency to the need for comprehensive safety measures as construction continues.

Authorities are continuing their investigations to determine the exact circumstances leading to the fatal fall.
