HOUSTON — Vice President Kamala Harris, who has gained significant attention following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race, is set to speak in Houston on Thursday.
Harris will be delivering the keynote address at the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Convention, held at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Widely regarded as the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, her speech is highly anticipated.
The White House stated that Harris’s address to educators from across the nation continues her ongoing advocacy for workers’ rights. As Chair of the White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment, Harris has consistently championed the cause of American workers. Recently, she conveyed this message to thousands of union members at the SEIU Quadrennial Convention and the Constitutional Convention of UNITE HERE, the largest hospitality union.
The exact time of her speech remains unconfirmed.
