The Philippines’ music sensation SB19 has once again made waves on the global stage, clinching the coveted title of Favorite Asian Act at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024. The announcement, made on Wednesday, July 17, marked a significant moment for the P-Pop group as they triumphed over notable contenders including K-pop stars ENHYPEN, Malaysian singer Iman Troye, Japanese girl group NiziU, and Indonesian vocalist Tiara Andini.
Known for their dynamic performances and devoted fanbase known as A’TIN, SB19—composed of members Pablo, Stell, Josh, Justin, and Felip—took to social media to express their gratitude. “Thank you, A’TIN and @Nickelodeon! Winning Favorite Asian Act at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards is a dream come true for us and for our country, The Philippines. Your support and recognition mean everything,” the group shared in an emotional post.
In a special video message shared on Nickelodeon Asia’s Instagram, SB19 members expressed their pride in representing the Philippines on an international platform. “It’s such an honor to represent the Philippines,” remarked Justin, with Felip adding, “We appreciate your love and support.”
This victory echoes a similar triumph in 2012 when Filipina singer Charice Pempengco, now known as Jake Zyrus, claimed the same prestigious award, surpassing other regional stars including Indonesian sensation Agnes Monica, South Korean favorites Wonder Girls, and Malaysian artist Yuna.
SB19’s win not only underscores their growing influence in the global music scene but also solidifies their status as icons of Filipino talent and resilience. As they continue to captivate audiences worldwide with their music and passion, SB19 remains a beacon of Pinoy pride, inspiring a new generation of artists and fans alike.
