Manila, Philippines – In a rare and symbolic gesture, Kris Aquino’s sons, Bimby and Josh, visited First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, marking the first time in many years that members of the two prominent political families have come together.
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, wearing an amber yellow sleeveless dress, shared a photo of the boys’ visit to her office on Facebook on Tuesday, July 9. “Thank you, Bimby and Josh, for dropping by. It was so nice to see you guys after all these years,” she wrote in the caption.
During their courtesy call, Bimby and Josh brought a “pasalubong” (souvenir) for the First Lady, which appeared to be a box from a luxury brand. They were accompanied by Michael Leyva, a close friend of their mother and a renowned fashion designer who spearheaded a fashion runway project for the First Lady last year.
The photo garnered numerous positive reactions from netizens, many expressing delight at the sight of the two families bonding. Among the commenters was actress-host Pokwang, a known critic of the Marcoses, who shared her emotional response. “Nakaka iyak naman sila. We are so happy to see you both parties,” wrote one netizen.
This visit signifies a moment of unity and warmth, bridging a gap between two influential families in Philippine politics.
