Itaewon Class author Gwang Jin lands in Manila July 4–6

Gwang Jin, the acclaimed creator of the popular webtoon Itaewon Class, will visit the Philippines in July for a series of fan and cultural events, organizers announced this week.

The South Korean cartoonist and filmmaker is expected to participate in multiple engagements in Metro Manila aimed at promoting cultural exchange and connecting with fans of his work.

Specific dates, venues, and event details have yet to be officially disclosed.

Gwang Jin rose to international prominence through Itaewon Class, a webtoon that was later adapted into a successful television drama.

His work has been credited with helping to expand the global reach of Korean content and contributing to the Korean Wave, or Hallyu, across Asia and beyond.

While in Manila, Gwang Jin is set to meet with local fans, participate in talks or panel discussions, and engage with the creative community.
