MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed Saturday afternoon that Richard Bachmann is no longer the chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) chair Patrick Gregorio will take over as the new head of the national sports agency.

Bersamin announced the leadership change through a message to reporters via Viber.

Gregorio’s appointment marks a new phase for the PSC as the government moves to align its sports development initiatives with fresh leadership. Officials said the transition aims to bring renewed direction and momentum to the agency.

Bachmann’s term concludes with this development, ending his tenure at the helm of the PSC. No official reason for the change has been publicly disclosed.

Gregorio, who brings experience in basketball administration, is expected to steer the PSC in line with the administration’s broader objectives for sports growth and performance improvement. His leadership is anticipated to influence future strategies and programs of the agency.
