MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Saturday that it is providing psychosocial support to Filipinos residing in Israel amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said the DOH has launched online counseling services for approximately 60 overseas Filipinos affected by the conflict. The initiative aims to address mental health needs and reduce stress among Filipinos living and working in the region.
“The Department of Health, in coordination with partner agencies, is committed to extending help and comfort to the Filipino diaspora affected by this conflict,” Herbosa said in a statement.
The DOH emphasized the importance of mental health services for overseas workers in high-risk areas. Professional counselors are facilitating the sessions, which are tailored to help Filipinos cope with psychological stress and build emotional resilience.
The department is also working with local and international partners, as well as Philippine embassies and consulates, to reach more Filipinos in need of support.
Filipino residents in Israel are encouraged to participate in the available services. The DOH said it will continue assessing the needs of affected communities and expand its mental health support programs accordingly.
