MANILA, Philippines– The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will elevate the Duterte Youth party-list case to the en banc for review on Tuesday, despite the holiday, as part of ongoing election preparations.

Chairman George Garcia confirmed the move after receiving a motion for reconsideration from the group.

The Comelec Second Division recently voted 2-1 to cancel the Duterte Youth’s registration, citing a 2019 petition that claimed the group’s accreditation lacked proper publication and hearing as required by law.

Although Duterte Youth secured over two million votes in the 2025 midterm elections, it has not been proclaimed due to the legal challenge.

Garcia, who previously served as the group’s legal counsel, has inhibited himself from the case to maintain impartiality.

He also stated that the Supreme Court’s Mangudadatu ruling does not apply here. The party-list has no proclaimed nominee as of June 30.
